The Tom Tom One (now at version 3) is effectively your entry level SatNav system, very common, user friendly, and here now with all the features that were in the Tom Tom Go this demonstrates a good system bourne of experience. This system will direct you from your home address to your destination address with maps and audiable voice provided. The Tom Tom Go 300

Described as the simplest, and smartest all in one SatNav these are bold claims, and this is the upgraded TomTom SatNav. In practice it is easy to setup, and you don't need to be tech savy to get the Tom Tom Go 300 setup. It includes a mounting kit for the dashboard. As you would expect colour maps, and voice guides, plus touch screen. What the Tom Tom has that sets it apart is extremely sophisticated GPS tracking using the latest software and hardware on the market.

Tom Tom Mobile

Tom Tom also run a sytem that will turn your smart phone in to a Mobile GPS System. Its easy to use hads simple installation and an intuitive user menu that gives you the perfect navigation experience. Included are Detailed maps of your region and the major roads of Europe are on a handy memory card. Door-to-door navigation in your region and cross border navigation to any major town in Europe. Clear and accurate spoken and visual instructions, it has easy to follow route instructions and crystal clear 2D or 3D maps (which ever you prefer) which lead you from door-to-door whether you travel by car, by bike or on foot, easy call handling: Never miss a call or SMS message while navigating through on-screen instructions.

The TomTom MOBILE software included has an intuitive approach to entering addresses, so listen up. Usually you only need to type a few characters of the city or street name and you can select the correct option from a list. On the Mobile you can specify the house number or select a nearby street crossing if you don’t know the number, and it will guide you in - excellent stuff well done TomTom................again.

Garmin StreetPilot C320

This smart little system will let you move the SatNav from car to car great stuff - truly a MobileSatNav we like that. The StreetPilot c-series GPS navigators feature a simple touchscreen interface, and have automatic route calculation to any destination and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions along the way. Selecting a destination is straightforward and requires only a limited amount of input from the user, so it should pre guess your route before you have to type it all in. Plus, the StreetPilot c320 and StreetPilot c330 allow you to choose between a three-dimensional navigation view or the more traditional birds eye 2d overhead view.

For those that are more budget conscious who only require detailed maps for a limited area, the StreetPilot c320 features an SD card slot, a 128MB SD card, and MapSource City Select street data on CD-ROM. The user simply selects the specific area of interest and the data is transferred from a PC via a fast USB connection. The c330 model comes factory preloaded with MapSource City Select map data.

Garmin Nuvi 250

The strapline with this is simple navigation at an affordable price that's the nüvi 250. In addition, nüvi 250 allows you to enter you own points of interest, ie you could add school zones and safety cameras and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming objects, items areas. So a great mobilesatnav in the market.

So now we have looked at some of the bigger players on the SatNav market however why not have SatNav in your phone and then you can take it wherever you need to go - yes you'll havt your SatNav system. Being lost is a thing of the past.

This also means there is no need to buy multiple devices or an expensive in the car system. This means it is Easy to move between vehicles and to take with you when you leave the vehicle, of course rather than leaving something in your car that can be stolen. This also means it is ideal for use when walking.

You can also in most cases connect to the internet and recieve live traffic updates, so the question really is w hy would you get a phone without Sat Nav? Once you have had a phone with Sat Nav you'll never consider getting one without it.
