Looking to buy a new game for your Xbox360 but not sure what is best, what to spend your hard earned cash on and what to spend your precious time learning, well here is a quick guide to what I consider to be the best Xbox360 games, and most importantly how they shape up online.

Now this guide has been setup as of November 2007, pre Assasins Creed lauch, which is said to be one of the best examples of a next generation game. Well there are always going to be great games around the corner so we're going to crack on anway. So forget your Gamespot, Game Trailers, IGN etc this is a quick fix top ten guide from a Gamer.

Also it goes without saying but if you haven't bought an Xbox360 yet make sure you go for the premium console. A lot of people opt for the cheaper core console however this will not include a hard drive and you are definately going to want to download some of the great demos from XboxLive. Also invest in a wireless connector for the back of your console so you can connect to Xbox Live quicka nd without the need for those pesky wires.

1. Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare.

This was a very tough choice and to a certain extent is pains me to put this game at number one. You almost don't want it to be as frustratingly good as it really is but this is an amazing gritty game. The single player is visually spectacular, the AI clever and the explosions and enviroments realistic. But this is really a Multiplayer game. Frustrating at first (as these games always are) investing in time pays of, with weapon upgrades, promotions, and up to 18 people slugging it out in urban enviroments, this is definately the best first person shooter on the Xbox360.

2. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfare 2 - GRAW2.

Does this game have a single player.......I don't know and hell I don't care. The multiplayer is simply amazing, and whereas the above is an exciting rush around the enviroment GRAW2 is amazingly tactical. Your gun choice is so important you stand with your squad and you know that if you rush off alone you are dead! Find the sniper spot, keep out of no mans land, and revel in these simply brilliant maps. Many an hour has been lost to the Headquarters map.

3. Halo 3

An amazing game but slightly dissapointing given the hype and massive marketing campaign. However this is a beautiful game, essentially Halo 2 with bells on top, Halo 3 has some dramatic multiplayer and a fairly average single player. What sets this game out though is the ability to jump in to warthogs in your team and gun down the enemy. However it all gets a bit hectic at times. And that sound when MasterChief dies, OOWW is so stupid!

4. Bioshock

Entering in to Rapture is a scary prospect, and being underwater suprisingly claustrophobic. This game is beautfiul, the graphics definately making the most of the Xbox360s power and an interesting story line that pulls you along. Also a game that is popular amongst women, as I know trying to get my girlfriend off it. Very clever, and obviously alot of love and attention went in to this, hence all the awards. However no multimplayer will put off many a hardcore gamer.

5. Lost Planet

Becomming quite an old game now but with 32 people to battle online, sublime graphics and the opportunity to jump in to a huge Mech and Stomp around blowing crazy aliens to smitherines, this is pick up and play and a huge amount of fun.

6. Rockstar Table Tennis

7. Project Gotham Racing 3

We're not quite finished yet - getting there.....
