Here it is the top ten movies ever!

1. Star Wars the trilogy x 2. Yes all 6 of the blighters they are amazing, they have touched so many people and created so much debate around the world. With cult following, groudnbreaking special effects in it's time, and inspiration for many generations. These movies transcend time, special mention must go for the third episode and the dark transition of Anakin Sjywalker in to Darth Vader. Get them on DVD, crank up the surround sound and get your mates round - classic! All 6 in one go if you have the stomach for it. And on the digitally remastered versions less of that Ja Ja Binks!

2. The Lord of the Rings. A beautiful trilogy, Lord of the Rings is the other end of the spectrum, fantasy, hobbits, orcs and a tragic hero. Join Frodo in this magical battle, fantstic from start to finish, yes long in parts but if you have 9hrs to spare get cracking on them! Probably the best of the three is the second one, with its breathtaking wars, and awesome elves...

3. The Godfather Trilogy. Cool, dark, gripping and timeless. The Godfather has had a resurgence of late. A son taking on his fathers role, driving friends away and becoming the 'Don'. Every boy likes a bit of organised crime, and this is the movie that set the precedent for the likes of GoodFellas, and the Sopranos. If you have never experienced these movies, go and get them now!

4. The Terminator Trilogy. Arnie is awesome, no one can disagree with that, and with lines like 'I'll be back' and 'AstaLaVista Baby' the sci fi genre will never see better. Granted 1 and 3 are ok movies, the beauty of Terminator 2 was light years infront of anything seen before, and the special effects still stand up in todays special effects dominated world. Remember the Truck chasing the bike! Or the T2000 morpohing in to the floor in the prison, simply spectacular. I can hear the chase music now.

5. Aliens. Four of these were made - they made Sigourny Weaver in to a legend, and kept many kids up in fear as the beeps on the radar detected Aliens were coming. Get outta there Ripley! By far the best is the second movie Aliens, where the bent company try to sneak one back for testing, die bitch!

6. Back to the Future Trilogy. Who can deny they don't smile when you see little Marty McFly getting beaten on by Biffs. Whats a matter - you chicken! And the rumours that followed the famous Mattel hover board. When are they coming out! These movies were hilarious, and very clever, quite clearly 2 was the greatest and that song ' Earth Angel, Earth Angel, say you'll be mine' whilst Martys hand starts to dissappear!

7. Indiana Jones - Often a little overlooked, Indy deserves his place in the top ten. Making a whip un bondage like, fighting ze Germans, claiming the woman, and always an encounter with Snakes. Just pure cinema Magic! One of the most recreated scenes sees Indy running from a giant rock in the Temple of Doom, and rumours are rife that a new one is on the way.

8. James Bond - All of them! These movies are the greatest - well eighth. The quintisential english man, charming, cool, and a killer. Clearly the best one was GoldenEye, but they all hold their own - with great jokes, always barrier pushing stunts - and a feeling of its great to be British. And there is a large camp that will claim Daniel Craig is the best yet, personally Pierce Brosnan was my favourite. And one of the best villains of all time JAWS.

9. The Bourne Trilogy - These movies are very very over looked, the Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremcy are gritter versions of James Bond. Clever, cool, and always making you think 'ow that was clever' the car chases are gut wrenching and the desperation for Jason Bourne to pull out another stunt is always going to get the pulse racing! Recently released the Bourne Supremacy completes this masterpeice, and is definately a movie to pull out when you have some mates around for some beers. Watch out for Jason beating people up with newspapers and tea towels.

10. A Space Odessy 2001 - The only standalone movie in its own right - this is a Stanley Kubrick Masterpeice. The beauty of Space, the amazing soundtrack, the question asking scenes that leave you pondering what just happened. From the Dawn of Man to the collapse of sanity. A beautiful masterpeice, that you either love or hate! Well it made it to number 10 so you can see that I love it. And of course the wonderful Blue Danube song that plays as the camera pans around space.

Thanks for Reading my top ten - it was quite off the cuff, and may have angered a few people but hell thats what happens with movies. Probably missed some great ones, and yes copped out a little bit by including so many trilogies etc - but there are some movies there that would be keep me happy for many hours. The truth is looking at my collection I don't own a lot of these, gotta get myself out to HMV now - bye!
